Solid Waste Management Advisory Committee

The Town of Greater Napanee is seeking applications from residents in Ward 1 for appointment to the Solid Waste Management Advisory Committee.

The primary role of the Solid Waste Management Advisory Committee is to assist the Town of Greater Napanee in an advisory capacity regarding municipal solid waste management initiatives as they relate to waste reduction, reuse and recycling and disposal. The scope of the Solid Waste Management Advisory Committee is to become informed and provide input to the Town regarding issues such as: 

• Consider waste collection and disposal issues and make recommendations 
• Promotion and education initiatives; 
• Household hazardous waste; 
• Initiatives to increase the diversion of waste from disposal; 
• Evaluation of criteria for new waste management initiatives

The Town of Greater Napanee is now accepting applications from members of the community who could represent Ward 1 (former Townships of Adolphustown & South Fredericksburgh).  Residents who wish to participate as a member on this volunteer committee are invited to submit a Solid Waste Management Advisory Committee Application Form and review the Terms of Reference.

Closing date for applications is July 11, 2008 at noon.
